Naagzilla release date shift
The makers of ‘Naagzilla’ have officially announced a new release date. The film will now hit cinemas on February 12, 2027, moving away from its earlier scheduled release of August 4, 2026.
The announcement came on Wednesday along with the reveal of a fresh poster. This immediately brought the film back into conversation after months of relative silence.
‘Naagzilla’ is being directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the filmmaker best known for the popular ‘Fukrey’ franchise.
Mythical world of shape-shifting snakes comes alive
At the centre of ‘Naagzilla’ is a fantasy universe filled with shape-shifting snakes, drawn from traditional Indian mythological ideas and folklore.
The film is being designed as a comedy-adventure that explores “Naag Lok” and its hidden stories. It aims to bring larger-than-life world where humans and snake-beings collide in strange and humorous ways.
The project carries a strong production lineup as well. It has backing of Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Neetu M Jain.
Kartik Aaryan’s first ‘Naagzilla’ look
The excitement around ‘Naagzilla’ first started last year in April when Kartik Aaryan officially announced the film on Instagram. He shared a striking motion poster showing him shirtless.
His caption played with the film’s fantasy theme. This teased viewers that he had moved from “human stories” to a tale of snakes and mythic worlds.
Why Kartik Aaryan is not in the limelight
However, after the announcement phase, Kartik has largely stayed away from the spotlight. This comes after his name appeared in online discussions linked to alleged Snapchat chats involving a minor. These claims circulated widely on social media but remain unverified.
On the professional front, Kartik last appeared in ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’, which released during the Christmas season. The romantic comedy did not perform well at the box office and struggled to maintain audience interest, especially compared to his earlier success in films like ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’.
